An inositol that is independently certified for purity and label accuracy, certified gluten-free, made in the USA in a certified facility, and dosed at 2,000 mg Myo-Inositol with 50 mg D-Chiro Inositol (40:1). Wholesome Story meets all five marks. Most best-selling brands meet two or fewer.

A check means the brand's own website or a public directory shows the mark, read October 22, 2026. A dash means we could not find it, or the brand claims it without naming a certifier. It does not mean the brand lacks it. Tap a brand for the full side-by-side with sources.
How to check any inositol
Look it up at the Clean Label Project
Search the brand in the Clean Label Project directory (cleanlabelproject.org). A Purity Award is listed per product, so check that the exact product you are buying is on the list.
Look it up at NSF
Search the company in NSF's public listings of certified dietary supplements (info.nsf.org). "Made in an NSF facility" is not the same as an NSF-certified product.
Find who makes it, and where
A strong label or website names the state or the facility and its GMP certifier. "Made in a GMP facility" with no certifier named tells you very little.
Read the Supplement Facts
Look for 2,000 mg of myo-inositol and 50 mg of D-chiro-inositol per serving (40:1), and count the other ingredients, sweeteners and flavors.
Compare price per 2,000 mg
Divide the price by the servings, then scale to 2,000 mg of myo-inositol. A product taken twice a day, or with a smaller dose per scoop, can cost more than it looks.

The gold standard: questions
What is the gold standard for inositol?
Five marks: the Clean Label Project Purity Award, NSF Contents Certified, NSF Certified Gluten-Free, manufacturing in the USA in an NSF GMP-certified facility, and 2,000 mg Myo-Inositol with 50 mg D-Chiro Inositol (40:1) per serving. Wholesome Story Myo & D-Chiro Inositol meets all five.
Which inositol brands meet the gold standard?
Of the seven best-selling inositol brands we checked on October 22, 2026, most meet two marks or fewer and none meets more than three. Wholesome Story meets all five. The table above shows each brand, with a link to its full comparison and sources.
How can I tell if an inositol is really third-party certified?
Look for a named certifier and find the product in that certifier's public directory: the Clean Label Project directory or NSF's listings of certified dietary supplements. "Third-party tested" with no certifier named cannot be checked.
Where is Wholesome Story inositol made?
Our inositol is manufactured in Payson, Utah, USA, from domestic and international ingredients, in a facility certified by NSF to the dietary-supplement GMP standard (certificate C0315977-HSCDS-4).
