  • Why does my Berberine taste so bitter?

    Berberine is an alkaloid compound that naturally has a very bitter taste. Because the powder in the capsules is so fine, it thinly coats the capsules during processing. You can reduce the bitterness by wiping the capsules off with a napkin or tissue before taking them, but this will not eliminate the taste completely.

  • Is your Berberine good for men too?

    Yes! Berberine supports metabolic and hormonal health in both men and women. It's also high in antioxidants that can help fight free radicals and reduce oxidative stress. As such it can be an excellent choice for hormone and/or fertility support in both men and women.

  • Is your Berberine safe to take while pregnant?

    While many women use Berberine to support fertility when TTC, we strongly recommend you stop taking it when you become pregnant. Berberine can cross the placental barrier and is not safe for fetuses. (The placenta is formed by week 12 of pregnancy, so using Berberine to support fertility is still considered safe as long as you stop using it once conception is acheived.)

  • Is your Berberine safe to take while nursing/breastfeeding?

    No. We strongly recommend women not use Berberine while nursing because it is not safe for infants and young children and can be transferred via breastmilk.

  • Is your Berberine safe to take while on birth control?

    Yes, Berberine is generally safe to take alongside hormonal birth control, but you should check with your healthcare provider about it and make sure they approve of the addition before you start taking it.

  • Can I take other supplements at the same time as Berberine?

    Berberine is safe to take with most other supplements. However, you should use caution when taking it alongside any supplement that can have an anticoagulant effect, lower blood pressure, lower blood sugar, and/or provide sedative effects.
