Is your Ashwagandha safe to take while pregnant?
No. We strongly recommend women not use Ashwagandha during pregnancy because it can lead to pregnancy loss for some women. -
Is your Ashwagandha safe to take while nursing/breastfeeding?
There isn't enough reliable information available to answer this question. Some healthcare providers consider it safe while others believe it to be harmful*. You should consult your own healthcare provider to find out whether it is a good option for you and your baby before taking Ashwagandha. -
Is your Ashwagandha safe to take while on birth control?
Yes, Ashwagandha is generally considered safe to take alongside hormonal birth control*. As with all supplements, though, we recommend you check with your healthcare provider about it and make sure they approve of the addition before you start taking it. -
Can I take other supplements at the same time as Ashwagandha?
Ashwagandha is generally considered safe to take with most other supplements*. However, you should use caution when taking it alongside any supplement that can lower blood pressure and/or have sedative effects. Ashwagandha may have additive effects with supplements or medications that act in these ways. We recommend you speak with your doctor before combining Ashwagandha with any supplement or medication. -
Is there a limit on how long I should use Ashwagandha?
We cannot advise you on how long to take Ashwagandha since the reasons you're taking it will likely impact how long you continue. It's best to speak with your doctor to determine what would be best for you, personally. -
Is your Ashwagandha free of soy, gluten, dairy, eggs, and other allergens?
Our Ashwagandha supplements contain no animal products, gluten, soy, or nuts*. However, our products are made in a facility that also processes common food allergens, so we cannot promise the complete chemical absence of any allergen unless listed on the label. -
Why do you recommend taking your Ashwagandha twice per day instead of a single dose like other comapnies?
The vast majority of studies that have examined the benefits of Ashwagandha supplementation (specifically KSM-66 Ashwagandha), followed a schedule of 300 mg twice daily. This schedule helps to spread things out and keep a more modest amount of withanolides (the active parts of Ashwagandha) in the body over a longer period of time. We chose to follow these serving recommendations rather than providing a large dose once per day, since the latter has not been well studied. Our 300 mg capsules also offer our users the opportunity to take a smaller amount, whereas many of our competitors only offer 500-600 mg capsules, which can be an overwhelmingly large amount for many people when they first start taking it.
